Israel Day 4- Carmel Market and Jerusalem

We began the day with a big breakfast.

We met the puzzle lady at the Carmel Market.

And had Henna tattoos.

Someone smudged her tattoo.
Lucky the lady was kind and fixed it for her.

We then took the bullet train to Jerusalem on our own. This was an adventure in navigating public transportation.

We entered the old city at the Damascus Gate.

We walked through the Virgin Mary’s tomb.

Here is an Olive Tree in the Garden of Gethsemane—which means Olive Press. While these are not 2000 years old trees, they are about 200 years old. Very old.

Church of All Nations at Gethsemane.

Herod’s Gate.

A random camel walking by while we are getting water.

Another time at Damascus Gate.

This is more likely Golgotha where Jesus was crucified.

This is quite likely the actual tomb of Jesus.

This is a replica of the stone.

Back in Old Jerusalem at Via Dolorosa.

Stopped for a snack.

And now we’re at the New Gate.
A few more trains back to Tel Aviv.

And a nice stroll down Rothschild for dinner and Gelato.
