One year

We have had quite the first year. For the past week it so we have been reminiscing about what we were doing last year at this time. The weather on their first birthday was very much the same as the weather on the day they were born--high chance of rain, threatening skies for much of the day, followed by much-needed rain and cooler weather.

Rather than narrate the birthday celebration, I'll let the pictures tell the story:
The people on Pinterest had model babies who just sat still and took great pictures with 1 balloon for the 1st birthday. Lia apparently doesn't care about Pinterest. She just cares about the big pink think floating in the air that her mother tied to her wrist.
Zadie was a BIT more cooperative.
After a year of no sugar, we decided to splurge on cake and cookies.
Lots of fun presents.
Happy Birthday, Babies!
What else was Mom going to do with the thousands of pictures from our first year of life?
MORE pictures.
Zadie ate up the attention and performed all evening.
After the meltdown of her life, Lia decided to give in and sleep. She missed cake, but came back a much happier one-year-old.
Lots of fun guests to help us open gifts.
What kind of sick joke is this, Aunt Rhonda?!
Zadie was observant as ever, examining everything.
After a snooze, Lia joined us for presents.
Lia and her Uggs.
Lia and G-Ma pre-party.
Babies and Nana, pre-party.
We had lots of fun guests--Sally and Mia...
Erin and Ellery...
Elijah...and so many more.
