Ginny’s First Week

Well, she has learned to sit, stay, come, and walk on a leash. She’s working on calming down during her evening playtime so as to not scare the girls. She seems very smart and generally wants to please. Initially, she was stubborn, but we’re thinking maybe that was just confusion or fear of new people. She’s super friendly now, mostly crate trained, and sleeps the entire night—and a good chunk of the day.

The girls love her 99% of the time. The other 1% of the time is a mix of fear and frustration when she won’t listen to them. They are great about taking her for walks, and it makes them feel important and grown up. They’re learning a lot about patience, being assertive, and responsibility. So far, it’s a good fit.
