Today’s hike was a tough one. We saw that it was 3.8 miles and rated as moderate, but we think that may have meant stopping about .8 miles short of the peak we gained over 1100 feet in elevation, and we were huffing and puffing most of the way up. Still, most of the complaining came from the adults as the girls had great attitudes. Lia wants to do it again (no thanks).

Sears Kay Ruins
This was a short hike to some ruins from a group of people who lived in this area around 1040...so a long time ago.
Gateway Loop
This was a fun hike, but it wasn’t easy. It was about 5 miles, and there was a lot of climbing. The hard work paid off with great views and lots of wildflowers.
Fresh Veggies
The only thing better than picking fresh vegetables from your own garden is picking them from the neighbor’s garden.
Horseback Riding
The girls have been begging to ride a horse since we moved to Arizona. We took a trail ride, which was fun, but made some of us oh so sore. The girls loved it, and Zadie was shocked that she wasn’t even scared.
